My Dollar Store Wall Art

The wonderful crafts that can be found on Pinterest, ohhhhh they make me heart happy.   This is one of the first crafts I did for my home using Pinterest as my inspiration.

The supplies:

$1.00

$1.00

$1.00 x 2

$1.00 x 2 bunches

All my supplies cost me a total of $6.00 and I couldn't be happier with the end result.

The process was super easy.

I painted the white canvas black. While the paint was drying, I removed the stems from all the flowers. Once I was confident the paint was dry, I pushed the flower end through the canvas.  I didn't measure, I just filled the space up as I felt it would look good.  Once I was happy with the fullness and placement of the petals, I started painting the flowers.  The painting of the flowers as a bit more of a piddly task than I realized.  It was easy to miss spots on the flowers, but all in all a very quick, easy and extremely inexpensive wall art piece.

The back of my house is a wall of 3 windows. There is a space of about 12" - 18" (can't remember now) between the windows.  I had been looking high and low for art that would work there. I even spent $50.00 on this 3 piece art set, but it looked silly ~ huge waste of money, too.  I am ashamed to say, that $50.00 purchase is tucked away in a closet, never used and just taking up space.

Finished Product
I do believe this is my cheapest DIY project that I've created for my home.  I just wish I had found it before wasting that $50.00.  Lesson learned though.  Now I look for DIY first and shop later.   Nothing lost if a lesson is learned.

Until next time,

~Tammy
